Crissie Carpenter from the “Folds of Honor” Foundation accepts a check for $15,000 from the Society of American Military Engineers during an installation ceremony in the Tennessee Engineering Center at the Adventure Science Center, Dec. 16, 2015. The “Folds of Honor Foundation” benefits and provides educational support to spouses and children of Fallen and wounded soldiers. In 2011 Carpenter’s husband, U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Andrew Carpenter, was killed while deployed. She was pregnant with their son.
