An authentic Mariachi band performs the concluding song of a Catholic mass conducted as part of a “fiesta” held in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Dec. 12 at Daenner Kaserne. The celebration included a procession, a re-enactment of the Virgin’s 16th-Century appearance to Juan Diego, a performance by young “Matachines” dancers, an international potluck luncheon and the demolition of a candy-filled piñata as well as a concert by the Mariachi players.
