Aboard USS Boxer, Off the coast of California (Dec. 7, 2015) -- U.S Marines with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Combat Cargo detachment carry a simulated casualty from the rear of an MV-22 tiltrotor aircraft on a litter during a mass casualty scenario as part of Certification Exercise, Dec. 7, 2015. Combat Cargo is a special unit aboard the ship that serves as a mass casualty team, keeps accountability of personnel and more. CERTEX is the final evaluation of the 13th MEU prior to deployment and is intended to certify their readiness to conduct integrated missions across the full spectrum of military operations.
