Staff Sgt. Brandon J. Curry, drill instructor, Golf Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, checks to see if a recruit’s blouse is properly labeled during a series commander inspection at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Dec. 7. Recruits are taught to label their items and uniforms to be able to keep track of them more easily. Prior to the inspection, drill instructors spend time preparing their recruits to pass with good scores by telling them what to expect. Today, all males recruited west of the Mississippi are trained at MCRD San Diego. The depot is responsible for training more than 16,000 recruits annually. Golf Company is scheduled to graduate Jan. 8.
