Drill instructors with Golf Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, yell at a recruit for not knowing the answer to a knowledge question during a series commander inspection at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Dec. 7. Because of the stress the recruits are under, they tend to forget the answers to the knowledge they are quizzed on. Recruits yell out knowledge with their drill instructors on a daily basis to help them remember things. Today, all males recruited west of the Mississippi are trained at MCRD San Diego. The depot is responsible for training more than 16,000 recruits annually. Golf Company is scheduled to graduate Jan. 8.
