Private Robert J. Bailey, Platoon 3267, Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, spars with another recruit during body boxing at Edson Range, Weapons and Field Training Battalion, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Dec. 2. Recruits were instructed to refrain from delivering headshots to prevent disabling their opponent. Each body boxing match lasted for about a minute, and the recruits used that time to deliver body shots.
