During a Nov. 19, 2015, tour of the Camp Zama museum in Camp Zama, Japan, Megumi Kashimura (left), a Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Reserve Component candidate from the JGSDF's 117th Training Battalion, explains the significance of one of the artifacts on display to Army Sgt. 1st Class Martin V. Arcilla (right), operations noncommissioned officer, Army Reserve Engagement Team-Japan. Many of the photos, uniforms, tools and other historical items in the museum's collection date back to the early 20th Century when Camp Zama stood as the home of the Japanese Imperial Army Academy. Today, U.S. Army Japan shares the post with several JGSDF units. Both sides work together to preserve the surviving monuments, emperor's air raid shelter and other landmarks that define Camp Zama's proud past.
