Bryant, from St. Louis, Mo., holds a training Morse code message during a Code for Unplanned Encounters at Sea (CUES) and a search-and-rescue (SAR) exercise with the People’s Liberation Army Navy Jiangkai II class guided-missile frigate Xuzhou (FFG 530) aboard forward-deployed Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Stethem (DDG 63). Stethem recently visited Shanghai to build relationships with the PLA Navy and demonstrate the U.S. Navy’s commitment to the Indo-Asia-Pacific.
