TANDUO, Malaysia (Nov. 11, 2015) U.S. Marine Sgt. David Camerino tastes a palm tree trunk in a jungle survival course during Malaysia-United States Amphibious Exercise 2015. Camerino is a squad leader with Kilo Company, Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. During the course, Marines learned what types of plants are edible, and how to avoid eating poisonous vegetation from Malaysian soldiers. The purpose of the exercise was to strengthen military cooperation in the planning and execution of amphibious operations between Malaysian armed forces and U.S. Marines. The 15th MEU is currently deployed in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region to promote regional stability and security in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt.
