HSI special agents and CBP officers work side-by-side to stop counterfeit goods and products from being smuggled into the U.S. Targeted searches of overseas shipping containers arriving on the West Coast often uncover counterfeit products, from designer clothing to electronics. The illegal importation and sale of suspected counterfeit goods like these hurts the U.S. economy and robs Americans of jobs. Not only are knock offs a rip off, depending on the product, they can pose serious health and safety risks for consumers.
