U.S. Soldiers, assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 13th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, conduct a joint patrol with the Commando Company, 2nd Battalion, 11th Brigade Department of Border Enforcement, of the marshes near Joint Security Station Um Sa'ah, Maysan, Iraq, Dec. 3, 2009. The Soldiers were patrolling for smugglers that have been bringing black market goods across the border between Iraq and Iran.
