    26th MEU celebrates the Marine Corps 240th birthday

    U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Nov. 10, 2015) - U.S. Marine Gunnery Sgt. Mark Montgomery a maintenance chief with Combat Logistics Battalion 26 (CLB 26), 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), passes a piece of cake to Lance Cpl. Chance D. Edminston a radio operator with CLB 26, 26th MEU, during a ceremony in celebration of the Marine Corps 240th birthday while embarked aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Arlington (LPD 24), in the Red Sea, Nov. 10, 2015. The passing of the cake is a time honored tradition signifying the passing of knowledge and experience from oldest to youngest Marine present. The 26th MEU is embarked on the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group and is deployed to maintain regional security in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
