Robin Lopes, a sixth grade teacher at Mokapu Elementary School, suffered knee lacerations from a motorcycle accident in the school parking lot aboard Marine Corps Base Hawaii Oct. 15, 2015. Lopes was helped out by a corpsman, Petty Officer 1st Class Janelle Mattern, and four Marines who were in the area when the accident occurred. Lopes is expected to be back at school teaching after Thanksgiving. “I can’t wait to get back to work,” lopes said. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Zachary Orr)
