Adam T. Ballard, son of Medal of Honor recipient Donald E. Ballard, takes the Oath of Enlistment as his father administers it at the Kansas City Military Entrance Processing Station Nov. 2, 2015. The younger Ballard decided to follow in his family's footsteps of military as a way of not only continuing a family tradition, but as a way to give back to his community and country.
