Staff Sgt. Jonathan A. Parks, a native of Grenada, Miss., and scout truck commander with 1st Platoon, B Company, 2nd Battalion, 198th Combined Arms out of Greenwood, Miss., performs a pre-combat check on his Mine-Resistant, Ambush-Protected vehicle at the Convoy Readiness Center yard at Forward Operating Base Warrior, Nov. 25. Parks received an on-the-spot Army Achievement Medal for outstanding performance the previous night, when the battalion commander, Lt. Col. Kerry Goodman of Meridian, Miss., accompanied the platoon on a convoy security mission from Contingency Operating Location Q-West to FOB Warrior, Nov. 24 and 25.
