Ashton B. Carter, 25th U.S. secretary of defense, hosted a town hall meeting with more than 300 service members, police officers and civilians in attendance at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Nov. 6. Carter stated that all of the U.S. service members in the Pacific region were valuable assets. “The single most important factor that has kept the peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region for decades is the pivotal role of the American military power,” said Carter. “That’s the role you play today.” (U.S. Army photo by, Staff Sgt.
