The softball game was part of a tournament between the different law enforcements of the U.S. military on Okinawa. Ponte, a Portsmouth, Va., native, is the Criminal Investigations Division officer in charge with CID, Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Installations Pacific-Marine Corps Base Camp Butler, Japan.
