Robert Lee, a SANS Institute certified instructor, discussed how cyber threats are often misidentified during the third annual Wisconsin Cybersecurity Summit Oct. 28 at Marquette University in Milwaukee. Topics ranged from detecting cyber threats and attacks to knowing what is a cyber attack and what isn’t, and breakout sessions examined managing risks related to online citizen engagement, protection against insider and outsider cyber threats. The Wisconsin Army National Guard’s Cyber Defense Team participated in a demonstration of cyber attacks and defenses on the virtual town of Alphaville.
