(Oct. 30, 2015) - Interior Communications Electrician 3rd Class Kyle Mason conducts baton striking techniques during an Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) spray evolution as part of the security reaction force-bravo course on the flight deck of amphibious transport dock ship USS Somerset (LPD 25). Somerset is currently conducting a routine underway for crew’s certifications. The ninth San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship, Somerset is named in honor of the crew and passengers of United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed near Shanksville, Pa., in Somerset County during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
