Coast Guard opens Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund, begins recovery off Kahala Beach [Image 1 of 2]
The Coast Guard opened the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund for $25,000 to pay for costs associated with pollution recovery operations resulting from a boat grounding near Kahala Beach, Oct. 28, 2015. A 46-foot fishing vessel with three people aboard ran aground in the surf near Diamond Head with an estimated 200-500 gallons of diesel oil, two propane tanks and four batteries remain on board.
