JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Oct. 27, 2015) – Members of Naval Air Station Jacksonville’s multi-cultural committee and Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s diversity committee, along with Navy Exchange staff, kick off “Chalk the Walk” at the hospital, a joint campaign to recognize and support National Disability Employment Awareness Month. The goal of this annual observance is to educate people about the many varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities. “Chalk the Walk” provided hospital visitors and patients the opportunity to write motivational statements, or acknowledge disabled workers, in chalk on the hospital’s sidewalk, or with markers on campaign banners. This year’s 70th anniversary theme is “My Disability is One Part of Who I Am.” (U.S. Navy photo by Yan Kennon, Naval Hospital Jacksonville Public Affairs/Released).
