151019-N-VS214-003 PACIFIC OCEAN (Oct. 19, 2015) Quartermaster 3rd Class Damon Artavia takes a line of bearing from a telescopic alidade on board amphibious dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49) as the ship gets underway from Naval Base San Diego. Boxer Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), composed of amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4), amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18), dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry and the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is conducting a Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) to test their ability to effectively respond to scenario driven events and perform as an integrated unit in preparation for deployment.
