Lance Cpl. Christopher R. Fettes provides security during a raid on Combat Town, Central Training Area, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 26, 2015. The raid was part of Blue Chromite 2016, a large-scale amphibious exercise that achieves high-level training at a low cost, while keeping naval forces in a forward-deployed posture. During Blue Chromite, participating units take advantage of on-island training resources, saving in transportation and logistics cost. Fettes, from Madison Heights, Michigan, is a team leader with 2nd Platoon, Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, currently assigned to 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, under the unit deployment program.
