Capt. Jonathan Laton, a North Carolina National Guard Soldier deployed to Kosovo with the 30th Armored Brigade Combat Team headquarters, laughs alongside a group of students while leading them in a game called The Human Knot, during an Oct. 17, 2015, Violence Free Future youth tolerance event in Kacanik, Kosovo. During the game, the participants to used teamwork and communication skills to untangle themselves without letting go of each other’s hands. Laton and several other members of Multinational Battle Group-East volunteered their free time to lead this and other games used to simulate real-life situations and start conversations about promoting pro-social behavior among Kosovo’s youth.
