151012-N-ZZ999-001 SASEBO, Japan (Oct. 12, 2015) - Builder 2nd Class Joe Hophan, assigned to Underwater Construction Team (UCT) 2, inspects and attaches cathodic protection (zincs) to the bottom of a mooring system, which protects all of the connecting hardware attaching the buoy to the riser chain. UCT 2's Construction Dive Detachment Charlie (CDDC) is conducting routine inspections of fleet moorings for Commander Fleet Activities Sasebo. CDDC is on the third stop of their deployment, where they are conducting inspection, maintenance, and repair of various underwater and waterfront facilities in support of the Pacific Fleet.
