MANAMA, Bahrain (October 2, 2015) - Gas Turbine System Technician (Electrical) 2nd Class William Mayes, from Dothan, Alabama, Ensign Gabriela Winter, from Orlando, Florida, and Seaman Joel Sims, from Birmingham, Alabama, man the helm and lee helm as the guided-missile destroyer USS Farragut (DDG 99) departs Manama, Bahrain. Farragut is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations as part of Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, strike operations in Iraq and Syria as directed, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the region.
