151009-N-ZY039-035 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (October 09, 2015) – Gunner's Mate 1st Class John Kavetski, from Norfolk, Va., and Gunner's Mate 2nd Class David Adcock, from Wasilla, Alaska, transport ammunition aboard the guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60) during a replenishment at sea with the Military Sealift Command's dry cargo ammunition ship USNS Alan Shepard (T-AKE 3). Normandy is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations as part of Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, strike operations in Iraq and Syria as directed, conducting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the region.
