Seamen learn proper inspection techniques for an MK-46 recoverable exercise torpedo aboard the aircraft carrier USS George Washington. The MK-46 torpedo is a primary weapon used in anti-submarine warfare. George Washington, the Navy?s only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier, is participating in Annual Exercise, a yearly, bilateral exercise between the U.S. Navy and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force.
