Lance Cpl. Maksimilian Pavlovskiy looks off the side of a small unit riverine craft after an amphibious raid at Ternate, Philippines, Oct. 8, 2015. Philippine Marines use the small unit riverine craft to quickly navigate and assault the enemy in the water. Philippine and U.S. reconnaissance Marines rehearsed and executed an amphibious raid, which demonstrated their combined maritime raid capabilities. This training was in part of Amphibious Landing Exercise 2015, which is an annual, bilateral training exercise conducted by U.S. Marine and Navy Forces with the Armed Forces of the Philippines in order to strengthen our interoperability and working relationships across the range of military operations — from disaster relief, to complex expeditionary operations. Pavlovskiy from Pittsburgh, Pa., is a reconnaissance man with 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Joey S.
