U.S. Army Col. Vernon Simpson, the commander of the Kosovo Force Multinational Battle Group-East, speaks with Serbian Armed Forces officials at the beginning of a joint Administrative Boundary Line patrol and leader engagement held Aug. 18, 2015, in northern Kosovo. The patrol was conducted by soldiers from MNBG-E and Serbia, and also included senior leaders from each organization. KFOR conducts these routine patrols as an impartial force, in cooperation with the Serbian military, in order to ensure compliance with U.N. Security Council Resolution 1244 and the Military Technical Agreement and maintain a secure environment for all citizens of Kosovo. Simpson, who commands the North Carolina National Guard's 30th Armored Brigade Combat Team, assumed the MNBG-E mission in July 2015. (U.S. Army photo by Capt.
