Marines with Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting, Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, practice moving together and communicating. The front Marine is a handline man and controls the flames while the rear Marine, known as the rescue man, points out the location of fires and pulls anyone inside the aircraft to safety. ARFF Marines are one of the safety measures MCAS Futenma uses in case of emergencies. H&HS, MCAS Futenma, Marine Corps Installations Pacific-Marine Corps Base Camp Butler, Japan, reached 100,000 flight hours without incident Oct. 1.
