Pfc. Mitchell D. Johnston rappels from a bridge at Baengnyeongdo, Republic of Korea, Sept. 7, 2015. ROK and U.S. Marines conducted Ranger Training to familiarize on crossing unfavorable terrain. The training was part of Korean Marine Exchange Program 15-13, a bilateral training exercise that enhances the ROK and U.S. alliance, promotes stability on the Korean Peninsula, and strengthens ROK and U.S. military capabilities and interoperability. Johnston, from Liberty, South Carolina, is a rifleman assigned to 1st Platoon, Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, currently assigned to 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force under the Unit Deployment Program.
