Lance Cpl. Mandaline Hatch, right, is congratulated by 1st Lt. Martin Harris, the public affairs officer with 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, after receiving the Joint Service Commendation Medal from Brig. Gen. Paul Kennedy, at Camp Courtney, Okinawa, Japan, Sept. 30, 2015. Kennedy, the deputy commanding general of III MEF and commanding general of III Marine Expeditionary Brigade, recognized her efforts as part of Joint Task Force 505's humanitarian aid and disaster response in Nepal. The Joint Service Commendation Medal is presented for sustained acts of heroism or meritorious actions.
