Coalition forces dismount the back of a CH-47F Chinook helicopter from Company B, 3rd Battalion, 82nd Aviation Regiment during a deliberate operation inserting ground force into objective areas to support the counter-insurgency mission in southern Afghanistan. Insertion and extraction of ground forces throughout southern Afghanistan by means of rotary-wing assets facilitates the freedom of movement of troops while limited thier threat and exposure to improvised explosive devices (IED) and reacting objective areas quickly.
