The 18th chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, U.S. Army Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, embraces his wife, Deanie, at his retirement and change of responsibility ceremony. Dempsey retires from the military after 41 years in service and is succeeded by Marine Gen. Joseph Dunford. The ceremony took place at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall in Washington on Sept. 25, 2015.
