Staff Sgt. Miguel A. Berroa, Aircrew Flight Equipment, 108th Wing, New Jersey Air National Guard, cuts off Airman 1st Class Justin Addison’s plastic booties – part of the aircrew eye and respiratory protection system – during aircrew contamination control area training at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., Sept. 19, 2015. The ACCA decontamination process is a series of stations with signs showing detailed instructions on how to decontaminate aircrew members. Aircrew Flight Equipment Airmen instruct the Wing’s KC-135R Stratotanker crew members on the proper use of the aircrew eye and respiratory protection system – part of the aircrew chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear equipment and are also responsible for setting up the aircrew contamination control area and decontaminating aircrew members.
