Paratroopers assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division, Dutch military veterans and attendees participate in the sunset march on a bridge over the Waal River during the 71st Anniversary of Operation Market Garden, near Nijmegen, the Netherlands, Sept. 20. The nightly tradition of the sunset march honors the 48 division paratroopers who died in combat during the Waal River crossing on Sept. 20, 1944. One at a time, the 48 streetlights on the bridge illuminate, each representing a Paratrooper of the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment or the 307th Engineer Battalion that were killed during Operation Market Garden.
