    173rd Airborne Brigade

A German jumpmaster leads U.S. and British paratroopers to board aircraft bound for the Ginkels Heide Drop Zone Sept. 19 for a commemorative combined airborne operation as part of the 71st anniversary of Operation Market Garden. The paratroopers from seven NATO nations demonstrated interoperability through airborne operations using other nations’ equipment. The paratroopers jumped with the German T-10 parachute, from a German C160 aircraft. The jump was part of a series of combined airborne operations and ceremonies to commemorate Market Garden, the largest airborne operation in history, taking place over Sept. 17-20, 1944. Approximately 1,000 paratroopers from the Netherlands, U.S., Germany, Italy, Belgium, Poland, and the U.K. participated in the anniversary. (U.S. Army photo by 1st Lt.
