U.S. Soldiers with the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, compete in a stress shooting event Sept. 22, 2015, at the Oberdachstetten Range Complex. These Soldiers were required to perform various calisthenic exercises, flip truck tires, push a Humvee, load and unload five-gallon water cans from a truck, then engage targets accurately using both a rifle and a pistol during this live-fire training event. High heart rate, heavy breathing, and mental stress make it difficult to precisely aim. Stress shooting drills like these give Soldiers the opportunity to become accustomed to and properly adapt to shooting their weapons under the less than ideal conditions they may encounter in combat. The Oberdachstetten Range Complex is just one of more than a dozen firing range complexes operated by the Training Support Activity Europe to provide U.S. Army Europe Soldiers with the ability to perform rigorous, realistic and relevant home-station training that enhances their combat readiness.
