Members of New Mexico National Guard’s 919th Military Police Company participated in the San Juan County Emergency Management Exercise Sept. 19, 2015, in Farmington, N.M. The company responded to two simulated disasters as part of a larger four-location footprint. The Soldiers were directed to search for, apprehend and detain suspects until the local law enforcement could take custody. Multiple agencies spanning police to sheriff to fire and the emergency management office were inundated with a county-wide threat. Working together allowed for shortfalls to be identified, personnel from all agencies to work together and get to know one another's capabilities.
