    Pacific Northwest Sailors refurbish Port Orchard Park

(Sept. 19, 2015) -- Aviation Electrician's Mate 1st Class Jason Pickering (left), a Spanaway, Wash., native, Air Traffic Controller 1st Class Isreal Cansino (middle), a Lubbock, Texas native, and Culinary Specialist 1st Class Tawny Holley, a San Diego native and all serving aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74), paint a pavilion along-side other Sailors from Naval Base Kitsap, and Naval Hospital Bremerton during a mass volunteer project to refurbish Clayton Playground and Community Park. The park is named after Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Michael Joseph Clayton who assisted his shipmates in building the park and died in 1971 during a car wreck while the park was still under construction.
