After completing the 2015 Air Force Marathon Forward, the first 250 finishers were presented with a medal, fruit tray and refreshments to help replenish nutrients lost during the run Sept. 13, 2015 at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. This will mark seven years that the race has taken place at seven operating bases in theater. The first Air Force Marathon was held in 1997 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Since then, each marathon has been held the third Saturday of September, with an aircraft chosen each year to represent Air Force history in flight. (U.S. Air Force photo/ Staff Sgt.
