Runners sign up and collect their numbers and pre-run nutrition packs prior to the start of the 2015 Air Force Marathon Forward Sept. 13, 2015 at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. This will mark seven years of U.S Air Force deployed location races overseas with seven operating bases in theater participating. The first Air Force Marathon was held in 1997 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Since then, each marathon has been held the third Saturday of September, with an aircraft chosen each year to represent Air Force history in flight. (U.S. Air Force photo/ Staff Sgt.
