Brig. Gen. Steven Ainsworth, commander 94th Training Division, awards the Bronze Star medal to WWII veteran Lt. Col., retired, Andrew Cella during an intimate ceremony filled with family, friends and service members at Fort Dix, N.J., Sept. 12, 2015. Cella and Technician 4th Class, retired, Vincenzo Geramita (Right) each received the medal after 70 years because after they earned their Combat Infantry Badges for the fighting they experienced in Europe, neither one knew that a 1947 general order made them eligible for the Bronze Star since they had earned their CIBs between 1941 and 1945.
