Colombian Air Force Maj. Gen. Ramses Reuda, the Chief of Education for the Colombian Air Force, receives a briefing on the capabilities of the M2A2 ODS SA Bradley Fighting Vehicle by U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Christopher Hawthorne, a ground service mechanic, during a South Carolina National Guard hosted visit for students from the Colombian War College to the SCNG Unit Training and Equipment Site (UTES) at the McCrady Training Center in Eastover, S.C., as part of the U.S. National Guard's State Partnership Program (SPP), Sept. 10, 2015. These students are the future senior leaders of the Colombian Army and the cultural and military exchange facilitated by this SPP engagement is expected to further strengthen and develop this multinational initiative. The relationship between South Carolina and Colombia was formally forged in 2012 when South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and Colombian Vice Minister of Defense Jorge Enrique Bedoya signed a partnership proclamation, formally establishing a bilateral relationship between South Carolina and the Republic of Colombia in the U.S. National Guard’s State Partnership Program.
