David Lundeen with SAAB Training USA erects the Deployable Instrumented Training System during the set-up phase of Bold Quest 2009. DITS will track friendly and oppositional forces throughout the training events planned for Bold Quest. Bold Quest 2009 is an Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration that brings together nearly 1,000 professional warfighters and contractors from 11 countries and across the U.S. military to test in a field environment the technologies designed to eliminated fratricide on the battlefield and refine the emerging technology behind Digitally Aided Close Air Support. This year's Quest event is held at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C. and will utilize the bases 160,000 square acres of live fire ranges, tactical landing zones and instrumented evaluation areas to test and evaluate combat identification interoperability between the military services and our allies.
