150910-N-JH668-191 SAN DIEGO (Sept. 10, 2015) –Sailors assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) take the Navy-wide E-5 advancement exam at the Harbor Side fitness complex on Naval Base San Diego. The Navy offers eligible candidates two opportunities per year to test for the next pay grade. America is currently undergoing a Post-Shakedown Availability (PSA) in which the ship’s crew and assigned contractors make improvements to the ships design.
