George Mendes, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH) senior installation chaplain, gives remarks while Shayla Oliver’Tuma, a sign language interpreter, translates his speech into sign language during an ash-scattering ceremony for the late Pearl Harbor survivor U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Daryl L. Finch at the USS Utah Memorial on Ford Island, JBPHH. Finch was serving on Ford Island during the 1941 Japanese attacks on Pearl Harbor.
