AMES, Iowa, (Sept. 2, 2015) – Wearing a Iowa State University Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) ball cap, Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV) Ray Mabus delivers remarks at a ship-naming ceremony for the Navy’s newest Virginia-class attack submarine, the future USS Iowa (SSN 797) at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. Mabus thanked the people of Iowa for their support and contributions to the Navy and discussed the special bond that exists between a state and its namesake vessel.
