Non-lethal weapons instructors from 3rd Marine Law Enforcement Battalion, III Marine Expeditionary Force, inspect a shield used for riot control by the Malaysian Armed Forces, during Non-lethal Weapons Executive Seminar 2015 (NOLES), Sept. 9, 2015. NOLES is an annual exercise hosted by U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific, and the U.S. Pacific Command's premier multilateral theater security cooperation event for non-lethal weapons. Non-lethal weapons and tactics provide options for U.S. Marines and partner nation militaries while operating in the full spectrum of warfare. The Field Training Exercise portion is the first part of the training which ends with a leadership seminar hosting senior leaders from more than 20 nations. This is the 14th iteration of NOLES.
